The price of rail transport is calculated using the following formula:
PU = (BP+ VAT) *D + (DF + VAT)
Source : ONCF
- PU : Unit price
- BP :
Scale that depends on the nature of the product. According to ONCF regulations, there are 4 scales (Scale 1: 0.42 MAD Scale 2: 0.38 MAD Scale 3: 0.3 MAD Scale 4: 0.28 MAD)
- D : Distance in kilometers
- DF : Fixed right (13.4 MAD)
The cost of road transport is completely liberalized and depends on several factors, including the price of fuels.
The average reference cost for the carrier is estimated at 1.07 MAD per tonne and per kilometer.
It varies from 2.71 MAD/tonne/km for 5.5-tonne dump trucks to 0.44 MAD/tonne/km for 38-ton tank trailers.
The cost of maritime transport depends on many parameters (place of departure and destination, supply/demand, cost of energy, etc.). Post-COVID rates have become volatile with an extremely upward and downward trend. Indicative rates will be posted online after their stabilization.
The price of standard air freight is determined by the volumetric weight (chargeable weight). It also depends on the specific route, exchange rates, fuel surcharges, and transit time.
